At the G8 Summit in Cologne last year a promise was made to drop the debt of the world's poorest countries. That promise has not been kept.
The G8 leaders are meeting this weekend in Okinawa (21-23 July 2000). The Japanese have spent an obscene $750 million on the summit. More than they have spent on Third World Debt.
This weekend across the world groups are holding vigils, a G8 Summit Watch. As part of our contribution to G8 Summit Watch we are asking that you e-mail or fax the G8 leaders and tell them to Drop the Debt.
